WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) just made it easier for Navy spouses to learn all they need to navigate their way through the Navy in the palm of their hand.

Changes roll out for transition assistance program
The first significant alterations to the Defense Department's Transition Assistance Program since 2011 are taking effect with the new fiscal year.
The Fiscal Year 2019 National Defense Authorization Act mandated the changes, which took effect yesterday.
The purpose of DOD's TAP remains the same, officials said, but the new requirements will reflect a different process of execution.

VA provides Vets fleeing domestic violence w housing supportive services
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reminds Veterans nationwide that VA’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) and Grant and Per Diem (GPD) provide housing and other services for Veterans experiencing domestic violence and intimate partner violence.
Additionally, in observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, VA’s Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program will gather with internal and external national partners this October to help promote the department’s mission to foster healthy relationships and safety.

Veterans can now enroll in VA’s Million Veteran Program online
Veterans can now join the Million Veteran Program online (MVP) as part of the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) effort to improve the lives of Veterans through health care research and innovation.
More than 775,000 Veteran partners have already joined MVP, a national, voluntary, research initiative that helps VA study how genes affect the health of Veterans.
